Celebrated with incredible energy and eagerness, Dree Festival is an important festival for the people of Arunachal. During the festival, people offer a sacrifice of birds and animals to the Gods. Prayers are offered to the Gods for protecting harvest, controlling of famine and epidemic, protection of prosperity and protection of mankind and fertility of the soil.

Mopin

It is the most significant celebration of the Galo clan. The festival is celebrated during March-April and is likewise the New Year for the clan. Sangken

Lukter is a flavourful combination of cooked dry meat and chili flakes (Bhut Jolokia). This is a side dish that is served with traditional rice preparation

Chura Sabzi (Vegetarian)

This is a traditional curry made with fermented cheese. Interestingly, the cheese is made of yak’s milk and the magical addition to this dish is flakes and a few pieces of local chilli that make it super spicy.

Wungwut Ngam (Non - Vegetarian)

It is a chicken dish prepared with rice powder. The chicken pieces are marinated in the rice powder along with herbs and spices and then boiled.

Oying (Vegetarian)

Dessets

Like its main course, assamese desserts are light and do not contain butter or clarified butter which makes it very easy to eat after a heavy meal.

Koat Pitha (Sweet)

A notable dish in the state is Koat Pitha. These are fritters made with banana, rice flour and jaggery

Aamin (Sweet)

It is a porridge made with oats or roasted rice powder and milk with seasonal fruits dressed in honey
