Monoliths
The Khasi monoliths are stones raised in memory of their ancestors and neighborhood legends who were martyred in battles.
Numerous such stone monuments are dissipated in the region and one can see them lying unnoticed and un-thought about along the remote stretches.
MAWMLUH CAVE
With an absolute length of more than 7 km of cavern entries, Krem Mawmluh is viewed as the fourth-longest cave in India.
The cave is located at a height of 4,503 m and is certainly for adventure lovers. The entry to this cave is situated at a height of 10 feet above sea level.
Mawmluh Cave is known for the stalagmite formations and other rock formations that are found inside. Likewise, one can discover a pool inside the cave, which is formed as a result of five different rivers finding their way inside the cave.
MAWSMAI CAVE
The Mawsmai Cave is a major crowd puller that leaves visitors mesmerized. These limestone caves have the qualification of being the only cave Meghalaya that is lit to enable visitors to appreciate the normal developments in astonishment.
In spite of the fact that the cave is long, just a distance of 150 meters is open for tourists. This magnificent natural wonder is the handiwork of years of natural abrasion and underground water.
LAWSHYNNA CAVE
This Cave lies in the slope of U Lum Lawshynna Hill. It is around one kilometer long. It is enhanced with various kinds of carvings and formation structured naturally itself which adds excellence to the spot.
A stream goes through the cave from starting till the end, causing us to feel as though we are strolling in a waterway.
MAWBYNNA
"Mawbynna" is the conventional Khasi word for a wide range of Monoliths raised by the Khasi or Hynniewtrep individuals of Meghalaya, which are the most noticeable of the stone landmarks of the Ri Hynniewtrep region.
These stone monuments, "Mawbynna" vary in size from less than a meter high to maybe 7 to 8 meters and can be found either in groups or single. The horizontal table stones are viewed as female while the upstanding ones male.
KHOH RAMHAH
Khoh Ramhah or the Pillar Rock otherwise called Motrop. A monstrous rock formation looking like a mammoth cone introducing a mind-blowing scene alongside the views on the Sylhet fields of Bangladesh.
Legend has it that it is the fossilized cone-formed container of an abhorrent monster. This stone is otherwise called "Thapa Rock" as the cone molded basket is classified "Thapa" in nearby language.
ARWAH CAVES
Arwah Caves are known for their limestone formations and the fossils which are believed to be millions of year old.
The adventure and nature lovers have seen different fossils looking like the fish, dog skull and so forth. The formations inside the cave are twisted and carved naturally in a way that people can go through them without any problem.
MAWKYRDUK
Mawkyrduk is a heritage site in Meghalaya and these stones are interlinked to their rich culture and tradition of the indigenous tribe of the people in Meghalaya.
